Lay Council member
Professor Carl Stychin is Director of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and Professor of Law in the School of Advanced Study, University of London. His previous roles include Dean of The City Law School, City, University of London, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Reading. Professor Stychin has particular interests in governance and regulation. He is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors of NCUK (Northern Consortium) Ltd, Chair of the Governance Board of the Patent Examination Board of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and a member of the Board of Governance of Nelson College London. Professor Stychin is also an Education Visitor on behalf of the General Optical Council and the General Pharmaceutical Council, and an Independent Education Adviser to the Costs Lawyer Standards Board.
