Under the Welsh Language Act 1993, we have obligations to treat the English and Welsh languages equally
Our Welsh Language Scheme, launched in 2011, sets out how we will deliver services to Welsh-speaking members of the public in light of these obligations. As part of the scheme, we committed to taking steps to make sure we treat English and Welsh equally when communicating with the public in Wales.
The annual report for 2020 provides updates on how we have continued to implement these steps, including:
- considering the needs of Welsh speakers as we redeveloped our website;
- promoting our Welsh language services; and
- building awareness amongst employees of our obligations under the Scheme.
