HCPC welcomes the regulation of Physician Associates and Physician Assistants in anaesthesia

12 Hyd 2018

Responding to the Department of Health and Social Care’s announcement that they will proceed with the regulation of Physician Associates (PAs) and Physician Assistants in anaesthesia (PA(A)s),

“We welcome the announcement that Physician Associates (PAs) and Physician Assistants in anaesthesia (PA(A)s) will be subject to statutory professional regulation. This level of assurance will provide increased public protection and offers significant benefits to service users, educators, employers and the professions themselves. It is particularly important for PAs given their expanding role in the workforce.”

Marc Seale

Chief Executive and Registrar at the Health and Care Professions Council
