The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Helen Gough to Council.
Helen is a HCPC registered Podiatrist. She is the Diabetes Service Lead for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and maintains a private foot clinic. She has previously been a senior lecturer in Podiatry for the Matthew Boulton College of Higher Education. In 2012 she was awarded the Queens Award for services to paediatric diabetes care.
On her appointment, Helen commented:
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to be a registrant Council member. I strive to help influence future professional regulation by bringing in my years of clinical practice and healthcare managerial experience.
I hope that my hands on knowledge and skills can add real value, in supporting the HCPC’s ongoing drive to protect the public. I look forward to serving my colleagues and the public during my time on Council.”

“Helen will be a great asset to the Council; her extensive front line service delivery experience will be invaluable in supporting the HCPC to remain grounded in current practice, whilst keeping public protection and the registrants' and service users' experience, at the heart of everything we do.”
