Over the last decade, the HCPC has commissioned several research projects to explore professionalism, work pressures and disengagement amongst our registrants.
Research consistently shows that professionalism plays a vital role in delivering safe and effective care. It is also well understood that professionalism depends so much on the character and nature of individuals and on the supervision and support available. These can in turn can be impacted by workload pressures.
We want to create and make available resources to help you think about your professionalism and how you can ensure you are able to safeguard service user safety, however challenging the circumstances. To that end, we have partnered with the General Chiropractic Council – the regulator for chiropractors in the UK – to commission Community Research to help us to develop such resources.
Community Research will run an online forum over three weeks, starting mid-June, to capture examples of professionalism from registrants. These will help to create online resources, including, possibly, film clips.
Community Research have now closed recruiting HCPC and GCC registrants to take part in this research. We will keep registrants updated as the research takes shape.
